I don't know what it is this time of year but the sky just seems like it goes on forever, more so then any other time of year... Cutting off the old day lily flower stalks looks a lot better. The weather did not hold up for much more time though and we had some heavy showers, thunder, hail, and I watched lightning hit the pole and we lost power and Internet for a little bit... 75*F, feels like 77*F, 63% humidity, SSE 2 mph wind, mostly cloudy OK, I've thought about it and for the time being I am NOT going to buy that big ol' expensive book. There was a big layoff where Mr. Hyper works. Mr. hyper says it's really weird, the owner isn't telling the plant manager anything either and they've eliminated the whole second shift for Friday... URGENT!!! Send possitive vibes please!!! Send positive vibes! Dh called me from work, says he thinks the shop is closing down. Quite damp as if it had rained again over night. This time of year we get a lot of moister from the acres and acres of corn and soy that is grown... 88*F, feels like 96*F, 64% humidity, SW 4 mph wind, scattered clouds Jack and I were hanging out in the foggy, humid morning just weeding one of the front flower beds that has been taken over by evil crab grass... 83*F, feels like 90*F, 78% humidity, calm wind, overcast Today was elderberry day! I picked quite a few, but there are a lot left that still need to ripen. I picked some rose hips too that were ready... I don't mind heat at all really so long as I can lounge and drink cold stuff and watch stuff grow and once in a while throw myself in cold water or hose myself down... Humid but coolish in comparison to how it's been for a while. It saddens me a bit... How on earth does this happen! I mean REALLY! ? HOW? Didn't I spend far too much money on something that would look nice and neat and not blow over in the first wind for you and you just don't appreciate it... Since it's Sunday and quite slow here I have time to do so... 72*F, 95% humidity, calm wind, partly cloudy I've been keeping busy these days between work and between trying to keep ahead of the crazy weeds in the garden with all the rain we've been dumped with. Sorry Texas, I guess we up north don't like to share very much though we do have plenty of water up here... Is there anything more pretty then a simple calendula? I don't think so! 81*F, feels like 85*F, 72% humidity, calm wind, scattered clouds Of all the lovely flowers out there, calendulas are one of my top favorites! They are just so sun-shiny, don't you think? I am just loving these "Radar" calendualas which I grew from seed I had ordered from pinetree garden seeds...
