Mitre 10 often have already-planted baskets with petunias and mixed bright colours.Usually about $10 I think.
If you like 'old-fashioned pretty',a friend hired a white trellis archway(but there is other wedding stuff you can hire) and on the day,attached roses and other flowers all over it,and hanging down-they were married in front of it... Moosey's Rose Forum :: RE: Wedding Day Rose Author: embene

Thanks for the good ideas! Glad I found this out before March came around. Maybe we'll get married in the vege patch instead! What are some fast growing flowers I can plant now, both perrenials and annuals to have a great display by mid March or am I too late? Probably a more general question than rose oriented sorry... Something that might look really nice is a set (at least five) of tall standard roses in big pots. The pots could have symbols on them, and the roses could be weeping or at least very generous standards, flower-wise... My Garden Diaries :: RE: Garden notes 3, a frosted landscape... Author: tea root

What a fabulous idea,but unfortunately,Wedding Day is just a 'oncer'.It needs pruning immediately after flowering-I am not sure that there would be hips in March... My Garden Diaries :: RE: Garden notes... Author: tea root

Happy New Year, Mark;
What kind of mushrooms did you get? And with a lease such as your friend has, when the lease is up, does the lessee get reimbursed for the value of improvements to the property, or does he just lose it all? We have occasional problems with this question in cases where non-natives have leased land from urban Indian bands and then the band wants the land back... And a hearty Happy Happy to all my Moosey friends. I hope that when you look back on 2008 you judge it a good year - and may 2009 be an even better one for you!
Before I end this thread, I need to bring you up to date with a few last activities, although once again there is little to report from the garden... My Garden Diaries :: RE: Gordon's Garden Diary Author: gordonf

Hi, everyone!
Here it is, January 1 again, and for the first time in 40 years, Canada is white from coast to coast to coast, and all points in between!! Normally, at this time of the year, in Victoria, a few hours south on Vancouver Island from me, they're taking a flower count... Moosey's Rose Forum :: Wedding Day Rose ...
