19 Jun 05 Moving along, finally. Yesterday, I finally got the last of the seeds in the ground. After weeks of cool temperatures and lots of rain, the soil was finally warm enough and dry enough to be worked and planted. There is still more rain... 7 Jun 05 Update This time of year, the garden is usually off to a good start. Things are planted, things are growing, and the garden is more or less "in." Not this year. We've had nothing but slightly chilly weather and RAIN... 29 Apr 05 Yay, Firefox!! You may have noticed the Firefox logo on the left of my main page. Well, good news! Firefox has broken the 50 million download mark. This means that 50 million users are enjoying tabbed browsing, a browser that renders code... 27 Apr 05 GRAAAAH!!! Rabbits! RABBITS! AAAAA! RABBITTSSSSS!!!!!!! Kill! Maim! Murder, I say!!! !!!!!!! Last winter, the rabbits ate my spirea to the ground. I was upset. The shrub grew back, but didn't bloom of course - it blooms on old wood... 25 Apr 05 First flower. The first crocus of the year bloomed on Saturday. :)...... 20 Apr 05 Was that spring? We've been hoping for a good summer, since last year was such a bust. (Cold, chilly, damp... And snow in every month, including July!) So we've been holding out hope for a nice, hot summer. But for a while there,... 14 Apr 05 So... much... yarn... !! This is totally insane. They don't ship to Canada (and shipping to the east coast is, like, $3500) but - omg. What would I do with 10,000 pounds of New Zealand wool yarn? O.o So. Much. Yarn. !!...... 4 Apr 05 Geraniums Two weeks ago I potted up the geranium cuttings that I started way back in February. I finally uploaded the pictures from the camera. It's amazing what a little bit of water can do for some plants. I started four... 3 Apr 05 Starting seeds Seeds! I got some. I started the forget-me-nots and lambs ear two weeks ago, and they're finally coming up. (I was going to have pictures of the little seedlings and the geranium cuttings, but I just don't feel like dealing... 20 Mar 05 Project Update I've been sort of lackadaisical about updating the progress bars on the left there with how each project is advancing. Then again, there hasn't been all that much progress to update. Mostly I've been slogging through trying to get the... 7 Mar 05 Yes, a grow light! As promised, I got myself a grow light. I was going to get the two-bulb, 48" light from Lee Valley for $189, but when we went there on Friday they were sold out. They could have one in stock in...... 28 Feb 05 Grow lights. Seed starting, which has not yet begun, has hit a stumbling block. My trusty Gro-Stik grow light is dying. This weekend, as we were leaving the house, I noticed that there was a crazy mad-scientist flickering coming from the basement... 22 Feb 05 Cuttings Last weekend I started cuttings of my geraniums. These are the same geraniums that I bought two years ago at a nursury, still alive. I'm amazed. It's a yearly cycle with them. I bring them inside for the fall... 13 Feb 05 Spun. Well, Spun Magazine has put out its first mini-issue, and so far I like what I see. The online knitting magazine niche has already been filled by Knitty and Magknits and others, so Spun has taken a different tact -... 8 Feb 05 Slow, slow, slow. I've been working on the poncho in little fits and spurts, trying to just finish the damn thing. I tried it on, and it's a bit.... short. I'm kind of irritated that my belly sticks out. Bit I'll wait and...
